How do I organise a Home Poker Den event with my friends?

Firstly, you need to decide which friend’s house is going to be the venue. Then decide the date on which you want to host your poker night. Finally, have a look at the details of the three packages that we offer and decide which one fits your requirements the best.

Once you’ve made those decisions please give us a call or drop us an email to request your booking, giving us as much notice as possible. We will then log your order and direct you to our secure online payments service to make the payment.

Our dealer will give you a call at least 48 hours before your event to discuss the exact requirements for your poker night - to make sure he is fully prepared. Then on the night he will arrive in plenty of time to setup the equipment to ensure everyone has a great time.

We’ve only just started playing poker, is it worth getting a dealer?

Definitely. Not only will you get to play the game in comfort with the best equipment, our dealer will be able to talk you through how to play and give you useful tips during the game. And it means that when you’re trying to find your feet you won’t need to worry that it’s your turn to deal next!

How many friends can I invite round for my poker night?

Home Poker Den has one casino quality, full size poker table that can fit up to ten players plus the dealer. The table measures approximately 8ft x 3.5ft. For maximum comfort for your players an extra 3-4ft of space around the table would be ideal.

What different formats of poker night can you run?

There are two main types of game that we can host: cash games and tournaments.

In a cash game the blinds remain fixed and each player buys in for a set amount. If a player loses their chips they can rebuy for more. The blinds can be set at whatever you wish and at the end of the game players cash out for the amount of their chips.

In a tournament everyone buys in for your chosen amount, which forms the prize pool. Throughout the evening the blinds increase and as players lose their chips they are knocked out of the game. At the end of the game the top three players will receive a pre-determined percentage of the prize pool. The buy-in, speed of blind levels and the number of paid finishers is totally up to you.

How do I pay you for my poker night?

Once you’ve spoken with Home Poker Den and agreed a date and time for your poker event you will directed to our secure online payment service. You will then be able to type in your credit/debit card details to make the payment. All payments need to be made prior to the event. Therefore, the only money you’ll need to concentrate on when playing will be in the pot!

We're having a great time and want to play on later – is that ok?

This is bound to happen - as time flies when you’re playing poker! You will need to chat with the dealer on the night for any additional hours after the original booked time. But most of the time it won’t be a problem. The extra hours will need to be paid by cash or cheque after the game.

Is this all legal?

Playing poker for money in your own home or private dwelling is not against the law and does not breach any gambling regulations. Please have a look at the Gambling Commission website for more details.
